Healthy Happy Humans 2022
The New Year is a great time to improve healthy eating habits and to increase activity levels in our school. For the next 6 weeks we will focus on the Holy Spirit Healthy Tips and we will work hard to improve our fitness. We hope that parents will support this programme at home and help the children to reach the recommended 60 minutes a day of exercise.
Holy Spirit Healthy Tips
The following 6 healthy tips are repeated in school throughout our initiative.
1. Get active and have fun
2. Enjoy a balanced diet
3. Replace sugary drinks
4. Less screen time
5. More sleep
6. Reduce treats
1km Fun Walk/ Run
Classes will be outside regularly walking and running to build fitness and stamina. To celebrate our increased fitness levels, we will finish our 6 week programme with a 1km fun walk/ run on Tuesday 22nd of February. The focus will be on participating and completing the 1km distance. The children can walk or jog or do a mixture of both.

Check out www.parkrun.ie for information on free park runs that take place across Dublin every weekend. Saturday morning runs are 5k and Sunday morning runs are 2k junior park runs for children aged 4 to 14. Tymon Park has 5k runs and Marlay Park has 2k runs. The website has more locations and details.
