Google for Education Reference School
On Monday 21st February 2022, Holy Spirit Senior Primary School celebrated being the first primary school in Ireland to be recognised as a Google for Education Reference School. This means that our practice in using digital technology has been noted as being innovative, creative and exemplary in our use of Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education apps. We are now a point of reference for schools around the country who are seeking to improve their teaching, learning and assessment practices through the use of Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education apps.
Using Chromebooks and Google Workspace for Education apps are very much a part of our every day life in Holy Spirit. The children adore using Chromebooks – they add great excitement to our lessons, they increase motivation and they allow students to create content in a wide variety of ways. Here are just some of the benefits of using Google Workspace for Education for us:
- Increases opportunities for collaboration – both for staff and for students
- Enhances sharing capabilities

- Improved communication – using Calendar and Gmail
- Ease of use for adults and students
